A big problem in the field of link aggregation is tailoring the results to an individual user. RSSmeme doesn’t have an account system. You don’t need to make an account to get involved; you just share and I hope it stays that way forever. How then can we make a customized view for individual users?
I played around with a number of solutions to this problem but they were all too complicated. And then FriendFeed launched their API and I knew I had the problem solved. FriendFeed allows you to retrieve a users profile including a list of their friends and services. Now that I know who your friends are I can filter out any stories that weren’t shared by your friends and deliver a RSSmeme built by your friends just for you.
You can try it out here: http://www.rssmeme.com/friendfeed/
Like any other view in RSSmeme you don’t only get a page but also a feed to go along with it. Give it a shot!
