Microsoft bids on Yahoo ($44.6 Billion), Twitter is King of Communication

Before any other sites were reporting that Microsoft had made a $44.6 billion dollar bid to acquire Yahoo I learned about it through Twitter from Justin Hawkes.  I’m not going to claim to understand anything about stocks or big business but I do know Microsoft, Yahoo, and software development.  Neither of them has what it takes to conquer Google and, honestly, I don’t think they can do it together either.  You know what they say about “more cooks in the kitchen”.  I don’t think either company is short on excellent developers; they just don’t have the direction and drive that Google has.

YHOO is up 60%  in the pre-market with news of this offer.  Good for them!

I’m going to make an effort to write more blog posts about events like this.  I have only been writing for myself lately; which is really fun but doesn’t bring in any readers.
