If FriendFeed keeps up the rate at which they make improvements they will become the de facto social sharing site. I already find most of my interesting news from FriendFeed and the more services they offer (and the more users that sign up) the better it will get.
The founders use it, listen to feedback, and let it evolve on its own; this is key to its success. They saw that users didn’t care about people listening to songs on Last.fm so they changed it to “loving” songs. They didn’t think commenting would be as huge of a success as it was and so they responded by unlinking subsequent posts (instead of “You shared w, x, and y on z” it seperates these out to allow users to comment on individual events). It would have been easier to ignore the users and keep things the way it was; but they listened.
It seems like there is some improvement every few days; either a new service (the FriendFeed bookmarklet) or a UI change (the expand all button for Flickr photos).
I made a post on Twitter saying that FriendFeed was hitting my blog every 35.75 minutes. Bret (a founder) quickly commented on it. He asked for the logs because they want it to run faster. Now that’s dedication!
I know you’ll see this in FriendFeed so: keep up the good work!
