Today’s my birthday and my present to myself is a Nikon D40 with 18 - 55 mm kit lens and a 55 - 200 mm VR lens. My father and grandfather were photographers and my uncle still is. I grew up with a Canon EOS Rebel and was constantly surrounded by photography. For most of my early childhood my father, uncle, and grandfather owned and ran a local photography business (Laurel Camera) which I frequented often. But the bug didn’t really bite me until I joined the school newspaper as a photographer and had access to nice equipment. Now that I don’t have homework or studying to do, I’ve designed to pick up photography again.
If I’m just doing something creative, the photos will go on my flickr account. If I’m taking photos of an event that Megen and I are both attending, the photos will go on both www.benandmegen.com and flickr. I’ll probably be writing a bit more about photography and linking to photos as I learn more, I have a ways to go.
